 hi . i am new to this group . I usually try and handle my thoughts and feelings on my own, but lately I have put myself into treatment with a therapist and looking for a support system. I have found this group to be very helpful. If any one has any suggestions for me please  let me know..                                                                                                                                                                                                                     thank you

Hi Missi welcome to AS. I am sorry for what you have been through that has brought you here, but I am glad you found us.  Reaching out for support with a therapist as well as with others who can relate to your story are both very good at helping us along the path of healing.  Take your time and look around, interact when and where you feel comfortable.

I'm glad you found your way here. :) I'm sorry for what you've been through, but it's wonderful that you've decided to seek support with therapy and support groups like us. I think you will get a lot of help here...there's a ton of supportive and friendly people in this community. You're not alone! ❤️ I wish you all the best on your healing journey.

I would suggest to keep going to your sessions, do what brings you joy and cut yourself some slack. Take your time to get to know this site, and no pressure on posting! You share what you feel comfortable to. This is a safe place for you to connect with fellow survivors, exchange support and to relate. Welcome to AfterSilence. I am very sorry for what you have been thru, it was unfair and undeserved. You have found a very supportive site with many understanding and kind members. You are not alone. 

Feel free to look around and interact with others when and where you are comfortable in doing so. Sometimes just reading other members' posts can be helpful. Seeing how others relate in struggles, even if the trauma isn't exactly alike, is a thread that relates us all. 

You deserve healing and I am glad you are moving forward down this path. Wishing you the best.
