Hello I'm new to the group and I've read a couple different articles on the site already and might i add that the sense of security i felt after reading some things bring me back to three years ago to a great man who told Me similar things to what I read that didn't make sense then but now fall into place like a tetris game and I couldn't be happier to be part of such a great thing not a person of tears but this brings a tear to my eye I thank this group and welcoming me I accept you just as equally as you accept me I am very greatful to be alive tonight to share

Hi Joe and welcome to the community. 

I am very sorry that you have experienced trauma for those which have brought you here. That being said, I am glad you found us. This is a very supportive community with many wonderful people. You will find much understanding and kindness within these forums. You are not alone. 

I am glad you feel comfortable already, tho it is ok to take your time and interact at a pace you are comfortable with. As you have, my journey here began with just reading some of the threads posted by members. It made me feel so much less alone. That, in essence, is what this community is all about. We don't have to deal with our struggles alone.

Welcome to After Silence.  I am sorry to hear of the trauma you have been through!

 

Being here has helped me so much.   Everyone is so caring and supportive here.  I am proud of you for reaching out.  I know that is hard to do.  I also know that you will find that needed compassion and support here within our community.  Know we are here for you and we will listen whenever you would like to lean on us.
