New here, finally ready to attempt healing

I am a 37 year old man, and have only tried therapy once. I am a victim of CSA, which took place when I was 8-9 years old. Covid has put the breaks on starting therapy again. I was not very honest last time I was in therapy, honestly I don't think I was ready. Sorry if I am rambling

Welcome to AS, @Lost-Lamb:aswelcomesu: I'm also still pretty new (despite my post count haha). I'm so sorry about the trauma you've experienced. But I'm glad that you found AS and feel ready to try healing...it's not easy. It's a long road, but just the fact that you're here, and you even mentioned about not being ready in therapy before, is a huge step. I wish you well. : )

Hi Lost-Lamb,

Welcome to AfterSilence. I am very sorry for what you experienced as a child. It was very wrong and unfair. Do know you will find much support here, as this community is filled with many understanding and kind people. You are not alone.

You certainly are not rambling, just giving us a little about yourself. I'm sorry therapy is at a standstill right now, but hopefully when you are ready, there will be less worry of covid. Reaching out to other survivors is a big, step as well...and I wish you many more steps forward as you move on down the path of healing.

Hello Lost-Lamb and welcome to After Silence! I am Wanna :flowers:

I am sincerely sorry about your trauma. Please know that none of it was your fault. After Silence invites all kinds of survivors, and our members form a warm and kind support system. Maybe it was too soon for you last time, or you needed some other type of therapy. There are plenty for methods, hopefully you'll find what covers your needs the best.

Yes, covid puts breaks and can also trigger in many ways. Therefore, I am happy you decided to join here. This community offers some company and support any time. I believe a community and professional guidance complete each other in a healing process. Please know that we are here for you. You can DM us staff if you would need anything at all.   :notalone:

Take good care!

Welcome Lost Lamb. I am also new-ish and glad we both found AS. I am terribly sorry for your experience, but so happy to see you now feel ready to heal! Remember, that feeling may come and go at times, particularly when starting therapy up again (at least that is what happened for me). Just know we are here for you in those potential up and downs, no judgement or shame. 💜

Welcome @Lost-Lamb to After Silence.  I’m sorry for what brought you here but I’m happy you are here reaching out for support.  Good job taking this step in your healing process.  You are not alone and what happened to you wasn’t your fault.  Also I'm sorry to hear COVID has halted your therapy.  It has made it harder for my healing as well.  Take your time exploring here and post when you are ready.  If you have any questions feel free to message me.

Thank you all for the warm welcomes. I'm so sorry you're all having to be here too. I'm also sorry for everyone else effected by Covid. I called my psych's office today and left a voicemail. Even therapy by video or phone is better than none.
