Hi, I am new to After Silence.  Over the past 10 or so months, I have been healing from my sexual assault.  It has been really hard for me to process it maybe because I still don't really understand why it happened or why it happened to me.  Anyways, my therapist suggested that I join an online support group to connect with others who have gone through similar experience so here I am!

I am sincerely sorry for your trauma and what you have struggled with these past months. You are being very strong for reaching out and getting help. Good thing you found us! I believe a community and professional help complete another in a support system. It is important that you know, that you are not alone in this. Nothing in this is your fault, and you own your story. We have your back! 

Yes, those questions can keep you up at night. What you always need to keep in mind, is that nothing was your fault. We can only process so much at the time. I hope this platform will help you to keep healing. You can talk about anything you'd like here, we welcome all kinds of survivors. Our members form a wonderful support system.

Hi Jane,

Welcome to AfterSilence. I am very sorry for what happened to you about 10 months ago and the struggles you are facing. It is unfair and undeserved, but your questions are completely natural and normal, tho we rarely understand why...because it means understand a mind of such a vile person, which is not something we typically do. It was not your fault tho. You did nothing wrong. We know that struggle and you are not alone.

You will find much support here with our many understanding and supportive members. Feel free to look around and interact where and when you are comfortable. You will find this a safe and healing community. I wish you well as you move forward on this journey of healing.
