I am struggling after being sexually assaulted. I was hoping to talk with others who have had similar experiences. I am very depressed, struggling in school and I am overall not myself anymore. I wanted to get an understanding of what others go through and how it affected others. I am not sure how this sight works but I am very desperate on what to do in order to heal from this traumatic experience.

Welcome to After Silence! I'm sorry you were assaulted and you're struggling. There are plenty of people here that have been through similar things and will share their experiences too. There are a lot of different boards that have information about different things you could be struggling with. You can see what others have posted that have helped them or you can always make your own posts to ask specific questions or ask for support with what you're dealing with.

Hello, I am as well new to this & I myself am a survivor of sexual abuse. I am now 24, I was molested by my Dad when I was 8 & molested/raped by my Grandmother's husband when I was 11 with whom she is still with. It has not been easy for me whatsoever, over the years there were many occasions in which I would be so depressed & I mean still up to date I have felt that way, but finally after many years I finally decided to seek professional help & I am so glad I did. I am here to listen if you need to talk, you are not alone.
