Hello there!

Recommended Posts

Hi!

I'm really happy I found this forum, although "happy" doesn't feel like the right word, maybe "relieved" is better? I started looking for a forum like this because my PTSD has been getting worse after almost two years of pretty much having it under control. So here I am!

I'll give a little info about myself: I'm 20 years old, I study Applied Linguistics at university. I'm really into music, I play the guitar, the piano and I sing, which often helps me feel better. I also spend a big part of my life volunteering at an LGBTQ+ youth group, which I absolutely love!

I'll see you guys around! :)

Hi @Regenboog

Welcome to AS.  I'm sorry for the trauma that brought you here, but I'm glad you found the site and decided to join. This site is a safe space and we are all here to support each other. I'm sorry you've been struggling with your PTSD lately. With healing comes lots of ups and downs, which can be difficult.  Sometimes connecting with other survivors can help. You are welcome to post and share on the site whenever you feel comfortable. I hope you end up finding this site to be as helpful as I do.

Welcome @Regenboog to After Silence.  I’m sorry for what brought you here but I’m happy you are here reaching out for support.  Good job taking this step in your healing process.  You are not alone and what happened to you wasn’t your fault.  Take your time exploring and post when you are ready.  If you have any questions feel free to message me.  I also volunteer with the LGBTQ population and love it.

Hi, @Regenboog -

Welcome to After Silence! I know how you feel about joining the site. It's nice to meet other survivors and not feel alone, but you also wish that other people didn't have to go through what you went through so you don't want to say it makes you happy.. I totally get what you mean! I feel the same way :) Hopefully you'll find some good support here and help with your PTSD.

I also play piano and sing so that's really cool! I'm also 22 so we are close in age as well :)

I hope you're enjoying the site so far! If you need anything or have questions, feel free to let me know! I'm around all the time!

Wishing you the best,
Poppy

Hi Regenboog,

Welcome to AfterSilence. I am very sorry for the trauma you experienced, but you have found a very supportive site. We really get what you mean as happy as compared to relieved. It’s a big thing to know that you are not alone. And none of us are, including you.

I am glad that you have reached out, and wish you nothing but the best as you take more steps forward on this healing journey.

Mary
