Nervous Newbie

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone!  My name is Kasia and up until now, I've avoided all forms of social media.  I'm a bit shy and didn't want to make it easy for my perps to find me.  This is so weird for me to be finally posting online.  Even a few months ago, I never thought I would do anything like this ever!!!  I have a great support group that I attend weekly, a therapist, and nice support network of friends and family.  Lately though, my issues have been intensifying and I've felt like something has been missing in my healing/recovery process.  I'm a night person and it's difficult to get my needs met because I usually don't feel like talking until everyone I know is asleep.  A friend recommended this website to me and I thought it would be a nice complement to the self-care that I'm already doing.  I'm looking forward to getting to know you guys, hearing some different perspectives, maybe making some friends, and hopefully doing some quality healing.  I'm completely new to this type of online support and would appreciate any advice the veterans might have for me.  I'm a total noob and I feel like I have no idea what I'm doing and I'm still not sure if I should even be here.🙁

Dear  kasia

Welcome to After Silence!!

I'm sorry for what you have been through.  I find it is easier to talk on forums then out loud.  Being here has helped me so much, even from the first time I ever posted.  It is still helping me - I have so much support here and I know you will, as well.  Here at AS, we are like a big family and our members are kind and non-judgemental.

I am sending you lots of safe hugs!

Take care!

Hi, @Kasia Kesfuria -

Welcome to After Silence! I'm sorry you've experienced a trauma that brought you here, but I am glad you found us :) There are plenty of people around at night and also, since there are people from all over the world, they may be in a different time zone and are here at different hours! This community is truly so special and I hope you'll find that as you get to know us more.

If you need anything at all, please let me know! I'm online quite a bit :)

Hugs if you want them,

Hi @Kasia Kesfuria

Welcome to AS.  It's okay to feel a little nervous when you first join.  I felt the same way.  This is a wonderful community and we are all here to support each other.  I'm glad you are practicing self-care and are going to therapy.  This site can be another tool in your healing tool box.  You are welcome to post on the site whenever you feel comfortable.  I look forwarding to getting to know you and seeing you around the site.  Please feel free to reach out at anytime if you need help navigating the site.

Hi Kasia,

Welcome to AfterSilence. I am very sorry for the abuses you've endured, but you will find much support here in our little community. Our members are truly understanding and kind. Do know this is a healing and safe community and I am glad your friend recommended us to you...and you decided to join. There is something to interacting with those who truly understand and would never judge. I am glad you do have a support network in real life, but glad that we will be that nice complement that you are looking for.

Take your time and look around and jump in when you are ready. Best wishes for many more steps on your journey of healing.
