Introducing myself

Recommended Posts

Hello, my name is Wolfgang. I am an Austrian, now living in the UK. I am 50 years old. I am a survivor of childhood sexual abuse. I can't write down this sentence often enough. I have started to recall the horrific events rather late, and I am pretty new to the entire process. Can't wait to meet, share and exchange with others. Hope to read you soon.

Welcome to this platform Wolfgang! I've been here since January 1st, and received much support, advice and empathy in this forum. I hope you'll experience the same. Don't worry about being "rather late", because it's never too late. We are here for you.

PS. If you are coping with flashbacks, feel free to contact me, I share some experience in that particular area.

Hi @wolfg

Welcome to AS.  I'm sorry for the trauma in your life that brought you here, but I'm glad you found the site.  It is normal for a survivor to take years before they really begin to process what happened.  It is often the brain's way of trying to protect us.  But it is never too late to begin the healing process.  The healing process is tough and it is filled with ups and downs, but you can and will heal.  We are all here to support you.  You are welcome to post and share on the site whenever you feel comfortable.  I look forward to seeing you around the site and hope you end up finding it to be as helpful as I do.

Hi wolfg,

Welcome to AfterSilence. I am very sorry for what you've been thru as a child, it is something nobody should ever have to go thru. You will find tons of support here, as our members are understanding and kind. You are not alone. Take your time to look around and jump in when you feel ready. I wish you the best on this healing journey.
