Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue

Recommended Posts

Hi all. I'm Blue. Or at least, I'm Blue right now. This is my first year out as nonbinary so with social transition I'm still trying out new names. My pronouns are they/them, as you can see in my username. I'm a survivor of multiple different instances and I've never really been able to talk about it before to anyone. You know the drill, no one wants to hear it etc. So I'm glad to have found this space.

About me, I'm 20, a writer, I sing sometimes. I've had a lot of difficulty actually engaging in my hobbies since my abuse, but they're there anyway. I like video games, I'm a second year in university for an education degree, specialization in English. My biggest dream is to be able to buy everything in my Amazon wishlist and still afford to go to concerts. I like Bratz dolls but they're too expensive to buy. Someday I'd like to have collected them all. I don't know what else to say really but I look forward to interacting with yall in the future.

Hi, @Blue (they/them) -

Welcome to After Silence! Congratulations on coming out as nonbinary! I know it's really hard to be open about that kind of thing so that's really awesome of you. I know you have always felt like no one wanted to hear you, but I'm here to say that WE will listen and support you about anything you need or want to discuss. You don't have to be afraid of burdening anyone here - we WANT to be here for you. This is a safe space.

Your hobbies and interests sound wonderful! I'm glad you're able to find SOME joy in them, even if not entire happiness.

If you need anything or have any questions, please always feel free to reach out to me. My arms are wide open!

Sending hugs if you want 'em,
Poppy

Hi Blue,

Welcome to AfterSilence. I am very sorry for the traumas you've endured, please know you are supported and validated here. You never deserved to be hurt. You are not alone. I agree that many times others do not really want to hear it, as it is common for those who have not walked in our shoes to really understand the hurt and struggles associated with. Others, as well, just don't know how to help, so they just don't know how to react. You will find tons of support here as our community of members truly do understand. Take your time and look around. Once you are ready, feel free to interact. I wish you well on this path of healing.

Mary
