I can totally relate to putting others' needs before my own.  It's an admirable trait to have but isn't always helpful to our own selves when we ignore some pressing matters and suppress them for too long.  I'm glad to see you are here, though, and you are ready to start working on some of these issues.  I am hopeful that being here will show you that you are by no means alone!

Hello, @Gordy. Welcome to AS! I am so sorry for what happened that brought you here. I think it is quite common to put others above yourself & to try to ignore what happened. Please feel free to read and post as you feel comfortable. You are not alone here.

Thank you.my wife wants to help me though this but she is bipolar and is the primary care giver for our mentally handicapped child. So I am try not to put more weight on her. 

I am hopeful that coming here will help.

Welcome to AS. I am sorry for the trauma you've endured, but you will find tons of support here at AS. Our members are understanding and kind. Many of us ignored and denied, so know that is normal. Being ready to face it is a big step. Take your time and look around. I wish you the best on your healing journey.
