Hi.

I have been trying to get up the courage to post this for the last couple weeks. (Ir’s easy to reply to a word game, easier to reply to a post, and really hard for me to start a new post.) I’m not supposed to talk about it, but I can say I got hurt  for a long time.  I’m really struggling with it and with PTSD

Other things about me: I love to read. I’m really interested in social justice and human rights. I love animals (though I’m very allergic to them). I live in the USA.

thank you for reading. Take gentle care of yourselves. :)

Hi OnWheels,

Welcome to AS. I am very sorry for the trauma that you endured and the struggles you face. You are not alone. You will find many supportive and understanding people here. It does take courage to start a post and reach out and I'm glad you felt ready. Do know that you are free to talk about anything you decide to talk about here. This is your private place from the outside world and you make the rules to what and how much you say. There is no judgment and no pressure. I do wish you the very best as you start your journey here with us.

Hi @OnWheels and welcome! Making a post versus replying to posts can still be difficult for me and I've been here many years, so you're not alone in that. Glad you did write an intro after all :) It's nice to meet you!

I'm sorry for what happened to you for a long time, and PTSD can be rough :notalone:  :aswelcomesu:

Thank you Silentg, Mary, Struggling88, Elisand, and Fallenstar for the warm welcome. It brought tears to my eyes knowing that someone else cared enough to read. Safe hugs are good and  :hug:back. I hope you are all doing ok today.

Welome @OnWheels cool name. In sorry you got hurt and had/have to keep it secrete, to many of us know that burden. It was hard at first to write post here for me as well, I'm glad you were brave enough to introduce yourself. I also love to read, just read a book called the art of racing in the rain it was written from the perspective of a family dog it was pretty good id recommend it though some parts were a bit trigging. I am a huge animal lover and like reading books too, while I care about social justice its not my thing but its cool that its one of your things. Hope your having a great week and a great relaxing memorial day.

Thank you Oneinamillion and Ghostly Lilian. I’ve heard good things about The Art of Racing in the Rain . I’m glad you liked it too. I currently have two books going: A People’ History of the United States  by Howard Zin is a much less white-washed American history book. I take it to all my doctor appointments and when I get time to read outside. The other is an Agatha Christie mystery, The Labors of Hercules

I hope you have a good week. Take good care.
