Finding strength in healing

Healingtz

Recommended Posts

Hi all, very new to this. I am a survivor of sexual abuse from a family member, physical and emotional abuse from a partner, and have a bipolar mother. I never knew I needed healing until I started my major, social work. I am happy to find this site because individual therapy and verbalizing my emotions is too difficult for me. I am thankful to be apart of this support group and community. I look forward to sharing my healing process.

Welcome to the site.  As Kmkz said, have a good look around.  You will probably find others that have had similar life experiences and be able to learn and heal from their feedback in these forums.  As for me?  I have been away from this place for more than a year.  I guess as the days get shorter and the nights get longer, I start to feel the need to better understand myself and heal whatever pain I might have lingering from my younger daze.

Hello Healingtz, welcome to AS. I also find writing easier than talking about things, and reading about others experiences helped me feel less alone.  You've found a safe place to open up where people understand. I hope you enjoy your social work studies and I wish you the best in your healing.

Hi @Healingtz welcome. I'm sorry for what you've endured and I'm glad you found us. I hope schooling is going well, it is always impressive to me when survivors choose careers that are helping others. It can be hard when you have unresolved trauma, my bit of advice is to be kind to yourself, you deserve that! :aswelcomesu:
