New Survivor

Recommended Posts

Hi, I'm new here. I just wanted to say "hi", I guess. I'm kind of awkward and I've been going through a lot of things related to what happened to me in March. Things get better for a time and then it all comes flooding back. I just want to try to get better and move forward with my life. But I feel so broken sometimes. But, I'm trying. This is me trying.

Hi @ImAlmostReal, welcome to the forum but I am sorry for what has brought you here.

That wave of emotions, memories and feelings of being out of control and awkward is very common among survivors. Especially in the first several months after the trauma occurred. You can get better and seeking support is wise step.Never stop trying and you will get better and feel less "broken".

Welcome Real. I am sorry for what you have been through but glad you found AS. This is a wonderful place to help you heal and find support. Don't worry, trying is what we are all doing. It can get better. Hugs if ok.

Hi, ImAlmostReal, I am sorry for the  trauma that brought you here. There is a lot of power in the words that you ended your welcome, "this is me trying". One of the hardest thing to do is share what happened to you, it goes against how we want to protect ourselves but you did it and that is powerful. You will find this site to be a safe place and you are not alone here. It is normal to have things come flooding back and feeling broken. We are here for you.
