Hi, I'm a new member. I think signing up was a big step forward for me and I am ready to get involved on this website although I am not even ready to tell my T about what happened. I am 16 and it happened almost 10 months ago when I was 15. It took me a very long time to be able to admit it to myself, and even longer to tell a few close friends. I don't want to burden them too much with something they can't understand so here I am. I find all of you who support each other on his site so inspiring and although it is not easy to admit I am ready to join.

Hey trying, I know you wrote back to one of my topic, and yes Unfortunately we are all in the same boat that has been whirling around in the ocean of emotions just trying to escape the storm.  We don't all get out of the storm unscathed but we all do have one thing in common...we all survived!

Just hang in there, and keeping talking to people.  Not necessarily about what happened to you, but just don't shut anyone out.  I blamed my friends who where at the house when it happened to me and I closed them all out and went through the beginning alone.  Not one person should ever go through this without someone so hang in there and go one day at a time!!!

Welcome to AS. I am sorry for the trauma that you have suffered, but this is a very supportive site. You are absolutely right, that it is a big step to reach out, something I wish I was capable to do at the time. My trauma was also at 15, but that was many years ago. Maybe if there was a site like this back then, it would have been easier because I know how alone one can feel with this. Good news is that neither of us are alone. This site and it's members are a source of support. I am glad that you have found us and I do wish you well as you begin your healing journey.
