Hi I'm new here. 

I was abused as a kid. I'm almost 39 now. I've had a lot of therapy for many years, have gotten a lot of help but still have struggles sometimes. For the most part, I'm kind of isolated. I have a good job but not much in the way of friends or family. 

On a dumb note- I tried not to have it show a birth date on my posts but it won't let me change it. I tried to edit it but it won't change. If anyone knows that would be great! Turning 40 this year and don't really want to think about my birthday.

your not alone. I was 5 when it happened to me though I sometimes don't refer to it as abuse. I'm sorry that your going through similar struggles.

There are plenty of good people here who want to see you heal.

Welcome to AS. I am very sorry that you have suffered trauma as a child and still struggle with the effects that trauma has caused. This is a very supportive site with many understanding members. I am glad you have reached out, for at least here, none of us are alone. I wish you well as you journey down your healing path.

BTW...Your setting for your birth date is fine. It's a silly thing with the site, tho you can are able to see your birth date in your postings, we cannot.

Hi itscleo, Welcome to AS. I am soory you were abused as a child. I think a lot of us still  struggle even with a lot of T, I know I do.

This is a safe place and you find you are not alone.

Hi and welcome to AS! I hope you find our community informative/supportive. Feel free to share as much or as little as you like on your own terms. It takes tremendous courage to share your story. There's nobody here to pressure you into sharing before you feel like you're ready to do so. Sometimes our members don't share their own stories, and that's acceptable as well. I wish you well on your path to healing.
