I'm new here. I'm a survivor and I'm getting ready to make a report to the police on Monday against my abuser. It's taken me 18yrs to get to this point and I'm terrified.

Hi LostUnicorn,

Welcome to AS. I am very sorry for the trauma that you have suffered, but you have found a very supportive site. You are very brave to be making this stand against your abuser. Not every survivor has been able to do that, so it inspires me when I see others who are able to do so.  I'm sure it wasn't an easy decision. I hope all goes well, and I will be sending positive energy, as you go thru this. I also wish you well as you travel on your healing journey.

Thank you for the support everyone. It's a welcome relief to read support and not suspicion or to be called a liar or other derogatory names. I will let everyone know how Monday goes but for now I'm going to rest and write. I have to take a trip down a hellish memory lane and write down as much as I can remember so that I don't panic, sob or just shut down completely.
