Hi All,

I just wanted to come to this forum to introduce myself. I'm 18 years old, and I'm a freshman in college. I have a lot of amazing friends, and I would say I'm outgoing, but I have always been a pretty private person about my feelings and my personal life. I don't feel comfortable talking about what happened to my friends, or anyone for that matter. However, I've been thinking about what happened to me a lot lately, and I think this might be the best way for me to begin to come to terms with my feelings about it.

I'm still a little anxious to share my story and talk about it, but it looks like there are a lot of supportive members here, and that makes me feel better. I'm looking forward to finding a support system and hopefully becoming a part of others' support systems as well.

I'm sorry things have happened to bring you to this site. But from reading your post I feel we are in a similar place. I also haven't been comfortable with sharing my story with anyone I know and am nervous about even starting here. Hopefully this site is as helpful to you as I hope it will be for myself

I completely understand not wanting to discuss with friends or family members. It's such a personal thing to go through and wanting to go about recovery the way you want to is very important. I'm also anxious. I judge myself based on my story so I'm worried about what others will think as well. But this site looks like a good place to start. I'm sorry this happened to you.

Welcome Swansfield,

You will find AS a wonderful site. When I first got here, I didn't know what to expect and didn't know if I could fit in. I am happy to say the support and kindness of the people here went way beyond my expectations. They genuinely care and want you to heal, just as much as they want to heal. We are all in this together as we walk this path of healing. Be assured, you are not alone.

Mary

Hi Swansfield,

Welcome to AS! I'm glad you found us but I'm sorry you went through something that makes you belong here. I hope you'll find that the members of AS will walk beside you in support every step of the way on your healing journey!

Strength to you,
