Exactly to your second paragraph, too. I told someone that when I saw Kavanaugh I saw a classic abuser's response. I saw my own father. 

I am glad you did "go on like that." Thank you so much. Everything you said is true and how I feel. I feel like you get it and that is priceless. Your post made me feel a little less alone. 

@MzKeys75 I feel the same. I am glad your Pastor/T was there for you. I have therapy tomorrow, thankfully. Sometimes I feel like the majority of the country is saying, shut up. We don't care and we don't want to hear it. 

@goldraindrops I understand, but sometimes you can't help it. I have found myself in that position repeatedly. Yes...they were amazing. 

I understand that it must be very difficult and demoralizing to be living in places or being part of communities where people don't get it. Please know, however, that it is not like that everywhere and a lot of good is coming out of this situation. 

As you know, Amy, I was 15 when I was assaulted by a boy who was nearly 17. I wasn't at a party and no alcohol or drugs were involved, but there are multiple reasons that Ford's story hits home for me. While this brings up painful things from my own experience and I share everyone's anger about the many people who support Kavanaugh and don't believe his victims or don't think it matters whether Ford is telling the truth, I am not depressed about what happened this week. I am focusing on all the good things that happened and what I know is going to happen. Please, everyone, do not despair because Kavanaugh is going to fall and lose everything. He may not serve time for sexual abuse crimes, but his life is destroyed, he is being brought down by Ford and other survivors, and there is a good chance that he is going to spend time in prison.

Please bear in mind that along with all of the terrible stuff, Dr. Ford has been receiving a ton of support. Thousands of people wrote or signed letters in support of her, organizations changed positions and came out against Kavanaugh because of her, a lot of money has been raised to help her, a white male law firm partner who previously worked as the Inspector General at DOJ resigned from his firm in order to join her legal team (because his partners would not allow him to represent her), and many women are angry and motivated to vote in November. Even if many people are misinformed and have been manipulated into not believing her or caring whether she is telling the truth right now, history will remember her as a hero. Furthermore, women who attended several girls schools in her area have realized that many of them had similar experiences, but never talked to each other about it and thought they were alone. Now they can support each other and work to bring change. 

Please read my comments on the Dr. Blasey Ford thread to learn why Kavanaugh is finished and on the Kavanaugh thread to better understand my optimistic outlook. But as I say at the end of my comments on the Kavanaugh thread, SA is going to continue to be in the news for a long time and we are going to be seeing a lot more horrifying things. Therefore, I urge everyone to think about developing a self-care regimen to use during this difficult time.

Getting Kavanaugh appointed is not about Roe v Wade or other old cases except insofar as that will make the far right base happy and that is necessary to keeping the traitors in power. What has been happening with the Republican party is not partisanship because it is not about politics -- it is about a massive, Russian led, transnational, global CRIME syndicate. We are literally in WWIII, which is a war to save democracy from people who want the world to be one giant mobocracy. A never before attempted, mind bogglingly massive, worldwide organized crime clean-up has been underway for some time -- it is the largest coordinated law enforcement action in history -- and we are WINNING. 

The traitors are desperate because they know what they have done and feel the walls closing in on them. They are hoping that Kavanaugh will save them from prison, but he won't. It is highly unlikely that he will be confirmed and if he is confirmed (highly unlikely does not mean that it can't happen), he will be impeached or resign. I am guessing that he is going to end up in prison himself for perjury and maybe worse crimes.

Please hang on because I promise you, Kavanaugh is going to fall and so are a lot of other people. I am attaching a chart that is unrelated to Kavanaugh and doesn't scratch the surface of what has been going on that nobody sees, but I just want you to see  something that shows you that I am right about there being a worldwide effort to clean up organized crime.
