  1. Welcome to AS! I'm new here myself and I am also someone who has depression (recently only officially diagnosed but I've had it for at least 6yrs). Can't remember the last time I felt genuine happiness, to the point where when I feel like I might be getting close to it I feel uncomfortable you know? Because in a lot of ways it's a new feeling I haven't been used to for a while and don't know what to do with it. Depression is extraordinarily difficult to deal with and in a lot of ways still has a stigma attached to it, young or older. We're all here because of horrific things that have happened
  2. Thank-you for the welcome everyone! And though I may be new I'm already sensing that this is a deeply supportive place and I am glad I joined
  3. Hello, Not sure what to say really...I'm here for a few different reasons, acceptence, validation, comarderie, this seems like on ok place. I don't know, for a while I didn't think I would ever need/want to join a place like this (there are reasons for that) and I'm a bit...nervous. I'm here as both a Survivor and Supporter, the realities and aftermath of abuse (in many forms) are sadly not unknown to me in more ways than one. I hesitate to say much more in an introduction, so for now I'll just say thank-you to this place of support for even existing.
