  1. I'm trying to practice self-kindness currently. It isn't working so far. However, later today, I'll be making apple crisp for my Bible study group. While it's baking, I hope to re-center myself with practicing yoga.
  2. Welcome, CosmicDancer Good to meet you on here. I hope you find the support and understanding you're looking for Though I'm not diagnosed dissociative, I do dissociate and depersonalize quite a bit, so I understand how that is and how it feels. Many people on this forum will get it, so you're not alone in that.
  3. I'm so sorry for what you've been through, and for how you've been judged/not believed by others. So heartbreaking. As if enduring trauma wasn't enough, it adds insult to injury to be called a "Liar". I'm proud of you for seeking out this GP against your parents' wishes. Sending you support and wishing you all the best. This is a very caring community of individuals, I hope you find the support/understanding you're seeking. See you around, Invisible.
  4. Welcome here, Alice. Looking forward to getting to know you.
  5. Welcome, Laurel I hope you find a place of support and comfort in AS. You're among friends here.
  6. I'm going to NOT exercise today, and rather make peanut butter cookies instead. That's what I will do for myself today.
  7. I'm going to see my massage therapist and chiropractor later today. I always love doing both.
  8. Hey thether, welcome back!! I hope you find the support and community connection you deserve from AS. Within this community, you are never alone in whatever you're struggling with. See you around!
  9. Welcome here, LiLau. I'm sorry you're struggling right now. I can definitely relate to what you had just posted. I struggled with a lot of memory loss, inability to remember big details (I was inebriated when it happened, and I removed myself far away from it once it was all done, repressed the details), and as I deal with the healing process, more and more comes to mind, and lemme tell ya - it isn't pretty, at all. If you ever need someone to talk to, my PM is always open. I hope you find a safe, warm community in After Silence. If you go to the thread: Sexual Assault: Different Types, there
  10. Welcome here, ShellWalt. Hope you find yourself around the boards OK, and we look forward to seeing you around! It takes courage to break the silence, but, that is a HUGE step in one's recovery process. This is a safe and supportive community, and I hope you find it to be just that for you.
  11. Hugs to you, Strugglin. The going will get tough, then the tough will get going. Par for the course, but you're not alone. You're welcome to share only what you want to, when you want.
  12. Hey there, StruggleInSilence, Welcome to AS! I hope you find the encouragement and support you're looking for; nobody understands a survivor better than another survivor. I'm very sorry for what's led you to coming to this place today, but you deserve some peace, and gain a sense of brightness and hope as you continue forward on your healing journey. I put the locks on what happened to me for four years, so I know where you're coming from in that respect. Hope you're finding yourself around the forums just fine. Very nice to meet you! See you around. - Courtney
  13. Hmm, this is a neat idea This is a fun little way introduce more about yourself, and who you are. - I'm probably not the only one who has a strict regime to stick to for my bedtime routine, otherwise I cannot relax. - I'm probably not the only one with the burning desire to run to Dairy Queen every time I see one of their blizzards advertised on TV. - I'm probably not the only one who feels excited all day about what I'm making for supper.
  14. Welcome here, Doe I hope you find this to be a safe, comfortable community to be a part of. See you around!
  15. You're very right, there are two sides to the pancake on this one for sure, Found. There are cases in which if a member is complained about enough/too triggering for others, or comes across as threatening in any way... Whatever it may be, I'm sure it's taken with great, great consideration from mods before banning said person from AS. The other side of this pancake is this new member, new on their healing journey, blocked, and who knows how that affects said individual? Your response and thoughts towards this show a great amount of compassion towards those who are seeking. No answer for you he
  16. Welcome here, Faith. I hope you find the support and encouragement you deserve Look forward to getting to know you better, at your own pace, at your own time.
  17. Welcome here, Twocky. I hope you find the support and healing you are seeking. This is a great community to be a part of.
  18. Welcome here, nightfairy. I hope you find the healing and support you're looking for. This is a very compassionate, caring community.
  19. Hey there, singanote... I'm so sorry for what you endured. I'm very sorry, too, to hear about your best friend passing away You absolutely do belong here. We all have different levels of physical/emotional/sexual trauma that we've experienced. None is less than the other, your pain is important, and your healing is important. I hope you find After Silence a great source of comfort, and a place to help you to begin processing what's happened to you. *edited because I called you "singalong" at first by accident...*
  20. Well... I guess this is a week of stuff I'm doing for me.. I'm seeing the dentist today, and after that, I'm making a hearty chicken pot pie for supper, and will just watch a whole lotta TV. Tomorrow, when I'm done work, I'm pushing myself to go to a Bible study. On Thursday, I have to go see my T after work, then I'm getting my nails done. Strange and petty as this may sound, I'm most excited for my manicure out of all these things... It's just fun. I rarely get my nails done, so it's an adventure of sorts for me.
