  1. Hello everybody. I used to frequent these forums so much years ago and had well over 3,000 posts but then the site crashed back in 2010 or 2011 and it scared me as I lost all my content and the site looked different. But once I got used to how it looked and operated I began to use the forums again but not as much as I once had. Then I was assaulted again and came back to the forums and was really active once again. I then became a forum moderator. I really enjoyed it but I had to stop being a moderator due to my mental health and personal life issues preventing me from doing my moderating properly. I miss it but am grateful for the time that I was able to help those as a moderator. Just thought about AS again today however and thought I would jump back in and say "hello" to all my old friends (if they still use this platform) and to all the new faces. I have been struggling a lot lately. Thanks for listening.

    Chant ♥

  8. Hello and welcome Sev! I am part of the NST (Newbie Support Team)! It is my pleasure to assist you with any help you may need or questions you may have.

I am sorry to hear that you have a reason to be here but I am sure you will find the same comfort I did when I joined here 4 years ago.

share as little or as much as you need or want to. This is all at your own pace.

Some people like reading the forums first and just tip-toeing in while others like to just jump right in (that was me).

    Hello All

I am glad to find this place. Although I do not know how it will help me I am very hopeful that i would find some friends who would listen to me unbiased. Even while writing this I cannot stop tears. This has never happened, all these tears don't know where they are coming from. I think there is a dam and it could break. I have been looking for people who understand my pain. I am glad to find this forum.  Can someone tell me why I am not allowed to access the chat room? I just joined today. God bless.

Hello Gary. Welcome to AS! It is my wish that you find this site as helpful and healing as I have in my own healing journey.

Some people find it better or easier for them if they "transition" into the forums by doing things such as: not typing right away but rather just reading other user's threads/topics and/or replying to them, or by just reading threads and seeing what we've got to offer, but then again others like to just jump right in and share their story. That is what is great about this place, it's all up to you and you make the calls. Many of us have had our control and rights taken from us, here YOU ARE IN CONTROL. :flowers:

    Hi,

Just a quick intro post, since I haven't figured out where to begin exactly yet. Definitely still finding my way around this site, and very nervous at the prospect of "talking" about things really almost no one knows anything about....but so grateful to have found somewhere to at least have a starting point.

Hi..... I'm a survivor. I guess..... I read everyone else's posts and look to myself like I'm some kind of wuss. Finding myself in a place like this when I wasn't actually abused like most of you.

Made a few posts in the male support area. Trying to get to know people that might understand. Some female members out there might also have a similar experience. Molesters tend to use the same classic tactics.... They all do it slightly different but it's still exactly the same.

My molester was an older boy and he tricked me into thinking it was a game, which at the time I enjoyed and even asked to play again the following night.

i define myself as a straight man. It's humiliating admitting I was a willing participant in my molestation.

Oh also please try not to compare. The worst thing that's happened to you is the worst thing that happened to you. We all have different stories and walks of life. Comparing only invalidates your experience and causes others to feel bad about their experiences. So please know that your story is heard and matters. You will find support here.
