  4. Sarah, Hi and welcome to aftersilence. I couldn't pass by and not say hello, since my teddy bear is named Sarah and at the moment she is about all I get to hug. I can't offer much help on your situation, because my being abused by my oldest brother was over 50 years ago and I am still dealing with the pain, but I think that is because I didn't get any support back then (it was the 1960's), and it had so much time to sink into me and cause damage befre I ever did. It is so great that you are getting help right away, I think that will be key in helping you get through this. Though short on wor

  6. Hi and welcome to After Silence. A wonderful therapist and supporting people that understand what you are going through is an awesome combination. I hope you find this a healing place and that you are among friends. Kristine Elisabeth
  7. Welcome Nicole I am sure you will find this a very supportive, warm and fuzzy place to be. We all here have survived terrible things from those that had something happen once to those that were abused or hurt over lifetimes. We are here to support, care and help each other because we understand. Kristine
  8. Amber, Welcome to After Silence. In many ways WingedDragon also saved my life and brought me back to life, and yes is a wonderful woman. On this site you will find lots of resources and information, people that just need someone, support when you need it, fun and silly things, information on going to see a therapist, people that have had similar experiences and understand the pain abuse causes, and you name it. I am sure you will see that here you can be heard and tell your story. A community that understands what you have been through. Greetings and welcome, Kristine Elisabeth
  9. The picture I chose for display on this forum is my inner child. Never learned to play, never learned to make friends. I was always protecting myself and hiding. Forty nine years later my molester still makes comments threatening me if I discuss with anyone what he did. Now many years later I wish I could play, I wish I had friends. I am still afraid of people, the ones that don't understand, and those that want to hurt you. I feel so alone. Today I'll most likely go see mom, Ive been down with the flue and haven't seen her in a long time. She is 87 and one of the few I trust.
  10. Hello Meg, I am new also (but very depressed today sorry )
