I Can't Get Into Chat For Some Reason...
NiciCool replied to PetalsInTheWind's topic in Public: Feedback Dropbox
I've been having the exact same problem! Been trying to get in for about half an hour, now, and I was starting to get worried that I'd done something wrong. I'm glad someone else is having the same problem, haha. There must be an issue with the platform or something? -
Another member actually posted about this elsewhere on the board, but I thought I would officially request it. I have experienced this, and I know I've felt a great deal of shame about it. I think many members (including myself) on here could benefit from knowing that they are not alone in experiencing this. Thank you! - Nici

Hello, and welcome to AS! You are definitely not alone - I didn't remember anything that happened to me until a few years ago, and I've only remembered some of the things from my childhood in the past year or so. I think there are many survivors, especially those that went through SA as a young child, that have experienced not being able to remember what happened to them. I think it's been hypothesized that it's a coping mechanism so we don't have to deal with something until we are able to handle it. I hope you will find healing here! We are here to help you however we can. - Nici

Welcome to AS! I'm so sorry to hear what you have been through, but I hope you can find hope and healing here. Writing is a great outlet for myself, as well, I think it's a wonderful way to get out thoughts and emotions. Feeling numb is not odd at all - and it's how you feel, so it's perfectly justified. I think many of us have felt numb both directly after or even long after our experiences. Though, I feel the general rule of emotions is: if you're feeling a certain way, it's justified because that's how you feel. I know you will find support here! - Nici

Thank you both for the warm welcome! And a rather belated welcome to you and your friend as well, TrustedFriend. I give good thoughts and wishes to you both, and know your friend's and your determination will see her through. RomanceRebel - thank you! Good wishes and thoughts to you as well! - Nici (or, yes, hey you! )

Hello all! I realized I've been on this site for about a month now (off and on - more off than on until about a week ago) and I never introduced myself. I now it's not mandatory or anything, but now I feel quite rude for not doing so. At any rate, I am NiciCool, but you can call me Nici, Nic, Nicole, "hey you", you know, whatever works. I am still trying to figure out my entire story - a little confused in many senses - so that may take some time. I'm so glad to have found this site and hope I can help other people heal as much as I hope to heal myself. Actually, I think sometimes by hel
