  1. So I know it's been a super long time but things have been really rough and I've not had computer access. But I'm back now and hope to be around a lot more. Welcome to all the newbies and hello to all my old friends.

  2. I'm back. :) So those who knew me before know I'm not new but it's been 2 years so I feel new. Life has been crazy. The wii is wonderful though, that's how I'm online because we don't have a comp. Lol. :) Anywho just thought I'd say hello. :) TTYL!!

  3. you all never noticed it....? I noticed it a long time ago...unless I'm just seeing things....or maybe I'm just that observent...or maybe because I almost clicked it once! LOL!!! But as far as I know it's been there for a while.....Nicole? lol! What do you say? How long has the Report button been there?

  4. The sad thing is, I hear a lot of teenagers and college students around here using the word soo inappropriately. Using it to describe unpleasant happenings or doing badly at school or sports. I've also heard younger girls yelling r*pe playfully when they're out with their friends at the mall. It's soo sick sometimes. I dunno maybe it's a local thing, but it still bothers me. I yelled at my friend about it a few weeks ago, he hasn't said it around me since.

It's not a local thing. Not by far. It's a sick trend that's sweeping North America. You see it in movies and TV shows too.

And the very sad thing is, and I am ashamed to admit this, but before I totally came to terms with what happened to me as a kid and beofre it happened a few years ago, my friends and I would do that...*prepares herself for rocks thrown at her* I heard a joke and told it to them and then whenever any of us poked the other, we would playfully say ra*e! because the joke was as follows:

There was this alien who went into this store and started poking the cashier. He would do this everyday, finally the cashier got so angry that he yelled at the alien, "ifyou don't stop poking me I'm going to pull down your pants and rip your balls off!" Well the next day the alien came back and poked him. The casheir screamed, "That's it!" and pulled down the aliens pants. He looked up at the alien and said, "hey, you don't have any balls, how do you all have s*x?" and the alien just smiles and goes, "Poke."

So yeah...but after everything happened I made my friends stop doing it...I just...I couldn't stand hearing the word so often, and in such a wrong way...I'm sorry... :(

BTW, back to the topic...I tried calling a friend of mine the other day when I got scared, she texted me the next moring and said, "Don't you ever call me that many times that late again! If you have an emergency, get someone else to help you. I'm tired of it!"

  5. Just a quick question. I don't know if it's my comp or what's going on but I changed my avatar to a pic of my brother but whenever I see one of my posts, it still has my old one. Is everyone else seeing my old one too or is it just me?? Lemme know please?? FYI, my old one was a butterfly pic.

    Thanks!

  6. Interesting idea...

    Dearest Melissa,

You are so awesome. You have your moments where you can go a little overboard but you realize that and that's great. Don't worry about those moments though because everyone has them. You are loved so much by so many people. I'm proud of you for doing what you had to do, in the begining, throughout the journey to now, and now. You are so strong and have endured what many others have but also something no one should have to. You still have a long journey ahead of you in life but you are not walking it alone. You have almost five thousand people from this wonderful place called After Silence and you have sooo many people from work and church and Florida walking with you to. They are there for you, lean on them, trust in them, most importantly TALK to them. That's what friends are for. You've come SOOOO far, Melissa, and changed sooo much in the past few years that anyone who knew you before might not recognize you. But you've changed in a positive way. You're beautiful, amazing, and strong. You have a wonderful boyfriend who takes care of you and loves you, no matter what. Remember that! Stay strong, stay true o yourself, stay happy, keep laughing, keep making others laugh, keep smiling, and ALWAYS move forward! I love you.

    Love always,

    Yourself

    wow...that was...amazing. Great idea! Great thread! :)

  7. WElcome to AS. Take your time, that's what's great about AS, you only need to post what you feel you're ready to and only when you feel you're ready to do so. :) Take care and welcome!!!

    ~~Melissa

  8. There is also:

gtg or g2g = got to go

    hb = hurry back

uhhh....it's late and that's all I can think of that haven't been covered, lol!! But there you are. :)

I know this topic was dead but I had to add my two cents, lol!! Those three felt left out, I had to let them join their friends, LOL!!!
