  1. Kia ora Summerwoods, Welcome to AS!!! I'm a Kiwi too. There are a few of us here around the boards. I hope you find AS to be a place of solace and support. If you ever need someone to talk to, feel free to call on me. Safe 's Rach
  2. Hi Emma, and welcome to AS!!! I'm Rachael and I'm one of the Newbie Support Team here to welcome you and help you around the boards if you need any assistance. My inbox is always open so feel free to ask me or one of the other NST team anything. I'm 28 and another perpetual student - I've been studying now for 10 years pretty much solid. To be honest I have no idea how to get a 'real job' lol, but I sure know my APA referencing. I'm sorry that you lost someone. That is often something that triggers struggles with other awful life events. Please know you can reach out here and get support. Safe hugs  Rach
  3. HEYYYYY I missed you!!!! Good to see you again Rach
  4. Hi Phoenix and a big welcome to AS from someone over the ditch (NZ). I hope you are safe today from these horrible floods. I'm one of the Newbie Support Team and I'm here to help you get used to the forum, so if you need any help, please don't hesitate to message me. I have had to have an EKG done a few times and it is always a triggering moment when those pads get put on my breast. I'm so sorry to hear this nurse has taken it even further and put you in an unsafe place. It's totally normal to think you're 'ok' for a while then struggle again. It's part of the healing process - the good ole 2 steps forward 1 step back. Take gentle care and I look forward to seeing your posts on the board. Rach
  5. Hi Carrie, and welcome to AS. I'm one of the Newbie Support Team and I'm here to help you get used to the board and functions of AS if you need any assistance. I'm sad that you have a reason to be here, but you are welcomed with open arms. This is a truly amazing group of people who have been through stuff like you have - and it is awesome to not feel alone. Just post as you feel ready to - there's no pressure. Rach
  6. From my husband: "I was talking to a woman at work today and she told me some stuff about her - kind of makes your life pale in comparison." Doesn't sound like much but ouch to me.
  7. Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square hole. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do. 8. Yes, totally agree. It could be called "Secondary Wounding".

  11. Kia ora Jane, and welcome to AS. I'm one of the Newbie Support Team and I'm here to help if you need any info around the boards. I'm pleased to meet you, but sad for why you are here. You did not deserve to be hurt. This is an awesome community - I have found it to be invaluable in my journey, and it is very supportive. If you need any help or even just an ear, feel free to PM me. Rach
  12. It got so bad today I threw a massive wobbly. And that's not me. But I have REALLY had enough. Seriously.
  13. Hi Amanda, This isn't usual, you should be able to post everywhere now. It's not you, honestly!!! It must be a glitch in the system. I will get a moderator in touch with you to fix it. Welcome to AS!!! Rachael
  14. Hey there artizan, and welcome to AS. I am so sorry for what brought you here, but I'm glad you have found AS. I'm Rach and I'm one of the Newbie Support Team, here to help you out as you get used to our community. If you ever need any help, please feel to PM (private message) me. Whatever happened to you, it is NOT your fault. We are here to listen whenever you feel like talking. I was hurt when I was 6 and even though I had a son (he is 7) he and his friends, especially female classmates triggered me a lot. I found myself longing for their innocence and total disbelief that anyone wanted to hurt them, or me when I was 6. She will get older, hopefully unscathed, and you will hopefully be able to take a deep breath and realise you both got through ok. And be proud of yourself for being a survivor AND a great mum. I'm sure you're a fantastic mum, and your daughter loves you very much.  Rach
  15. Hi.

Hey there Tami, and welcome to AS. I am so sorry for what brought you here, but I'm glad you have found AS. Going through a divorce is stressful, been there, tough times. It sounds like you have some good stuff you do to chill out for a while. Good on you for having the strength to get away from a bad situation. I'm Rach and I'm one of the Newbie Support Team, here to help you out as you get used to our community. If you ever need any help, please feel to PM (private message) me. Whatever happened to you, it is NOT your fault. We are here to listen whenever you feel like talking. Rach
